LEOS BEHAVING BADLY

Like many signs, this one contains saints and sinners. The truly rotten ones are unbearable, and their nastiness is often a mix of crafty self-interest and dense stupidity, so much so that one wonders whether they had been dropped on their heads shortly after birth. Here are a couple real life examples:

Leo Oliver was a fast-talking businessman, in the vein of a used car salesman, but his line of work was computers. This was in the early days of computers, and Oliver could rely on the fact that most of his customers didn’t know one end of a machine from another, so he sold them broken garbage for a hefty profit. He had a habit of starting a business, getting credit, going bankrupt, and then starting up something else and doing the same again.

Leo Sheila was a large woman with a very large chest, and she was always done-up, complete with glittery turquoise eye shadow and a helmet hairdo that was firmly glued in place with half a can of hairspray. When she entered a room, she looked like a large ship in full sail. If she came near a female, she didn’t stop, but passed right by, tossing out pleasantries such as, “You’ve put on weight,” or “Haven’t I seen you in that dress before?” When she came across a man, she halted and simpered prettily, convinced that any man couldn’t help but fall directly under her spell. Sheila’s long-suffering husband might have been an object of pity if he weren’t so spiteful.

Leo Frazer was a bully who had inherited a great deal of money, so in his eyes, he was a very important man. He and his girlfriend Mavis tried to impress others by buying them lavish meals and then sneering and ridiculing their guests throughout the meal.
